Cultural Committee Report(2017-2018)

Teacher’s Day at MVLU College was celebrated with full zeal & enthusiasm. The program  started with a tribute to Dr.Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan followed by dance performances from students. The day had an emotional and recreational touch.

Cultural committee of M.V.L.U. College organised cultural events and competitions from   21st Dec. 2017 to 23rd Dec. 2017 to promote extracurricular activities for the overall development      of the students. During  this period,  everyone enjoyed various colourful days  like Mismatch Day, Traditional / Saree / Tie + Rose Day, Denim+ Chocolate  Day, etc.  Various competitions like Hand-Writing, Monoacting, Poster Making, Rangoli and Healthy Food were also held to bring out the hidden talents of students. Our Director Mrs. Jyoti Gaitonde  made her presence and  motivated all the participants with her inspirational words .

Also it proactively organised and executed ‘Best Personality Contest ‘. The judges from fashion and modelling industries were called for this contest to select Mr. M.V.L.U. and Miss. M.V.L.U. All the winners were felicitated with cash prizes and certificates.

Cultural team of M.V.L.U. College conducted  ‘JOY OF GIVING DRIVE ‘ in the month of December 2017. During this drive donations were collected from students in the form of food-packets, books, bags, blankets, towels etc. Monetary donations poured in from management and staff of  M.V.L.U. College. Collected charity amount and items were handed over  to ‘DESIRE SOCIETY’ which is an institutional Care Home for parentless, HIV positive children. Student volunteers prepared Goodie bags and made the arrangements for safe transport. In this way the  generous task of spreading Joy by giving was successfully carried out  by cultural team of the coll

On the occasion of National Voters Day i.e. 25th January, 2018 Cultural committee conducted Voter Awareness Programme in association with Chenai College to encourage and educate young voters.  On 6th March, 2018 Cultural team organised Felicitation Program for Academic Toppers.

The excellent effort of cultural team resulted into smooth conduct of all events. Cultural committee is thankful to our Director, Dept. Co-ordinators and Teachers for giving their support and guidance.
